Visit the studio before you commit to a cohort
Open days are short hosted visits: walk the drawing loft, review anonymised portfolio sheets, and speak with a tutor about maths readiness and programme fit.
What happens on the day
- Arrive at 561 Fletchamstead Highway and sign in at reception.
- Tour the studio tables, curve store, and critique wall.
- Review sample lines plans and arrangement sheets from past cohorts.
- Sit for a twenty-minute readiness conversation about your goals.
Sessions run about ninety minutes. Wear closed shoes; the studio floor can hold tracing paper offcuts and timber straight edges.
Upcoming pattern
Open days usually fall on the first Saturday of each month during term, with an evening midweek option in autumn and spring. Exact dates are confirmed when you enquire—capacity is limited to eight visitors per slot so tutors can speak with everyone.
Who should come
Applicants for the diploma, yacht intensive, or short courses, plus employers considering CPD places for staff. Bring any existing sketches if you want informal feedback; we do not assess formal portfolios on open days.
After your visit
If a programme fits, we send a place offer with fee schedule and term dates. If you need more preparation, tutors may suggest the Hull Form & Stability short course or mentoring sessions before a diploma application.
